Data shows almost no one uses Threads anymore

Ana sayfa / Social Media

Threads, launched as a competitor to Twitter, is having difficulty maintaining its user base. The number of active users of the platform, which reached 150 million users in a short period of one week, has almost completely reset.

Threads user count dropped by 82%

The text-based app, integrated into Instagram, was launched in early July. It became the fastest growing app, reaching more than 100 million active users within a few days. However, according to the research firm, the number of daily active users has dropped by 82 percent compared to its peak.

According to Sensor Tower, users are not only opening Threads less frequently, but also spending much less time on it. Usage has dropped from around 20 minutes in the first week to 3 minutes a day.

Threads releases a new update for Feed, Translation, and more

Today, Threads has released a new update that includes new features, Feed customization, Translations, and more...

Another analytics firm confirmed this data. Threads usage has dropped to 12.6 million as of last week. In addition, about 10 percent of the Twitter audience is still using Threads.

It will be a long time before Threads becomes a daily habit for users. There are also many missing features in the app, such as chatting.

Despite these figures, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg remains optimistic about Threads. He plans to focus on improving the core features before trying to grow the user base further. But it’s unclear whether it will become an app like Instagram and Facebook.
